51. Rain On a Tin Roof
There something about how the rain dances on a tin roof; resounding through the darkness of the storm as a symphony of music! So when you see a storm, grab your blanket, your snacks, and a pillow and get ready to snuggle up under a tin roof and get ready to be kept awake all night to the musical sound of rain!
52. 'The Last-Minute'
Ever come into school with your pre-prepared homework assignment done and your friend bursts in and exclaims I did it at the last minute! Or when your just about to drift off into dream land when you remember that maths assignment was due tomorrow.....and you groan but get up and get it done, at the 'last minute'! So thanks to the last minute which as saved us all from pretty serious detentions and failing marks!
53. 'Playing In Sprinklers'
When I was younger and my mother couldn't be bothered to take me to the swimming pool when she knew I was guaranteed to swim for ten minutes and the whine saying I wanted to go home! That's when sprinklers came in handy! You could run around in the freezing cold water and challenge your brother/friend to a game of jump!(Jumping over the sprinkler water jets!) Now I wish I had a sprinkler and whenever I see young kids playing around in sprinklers I smile knowing the tradition has lived on and hopefully will continue to do so!
54. 'Surprises'
Your walking home from class; grumbling to yourself there math homework, theres physics homework not to mention that Shakespeare assignment that was due yesterday! You already begin planning your evening- no time for dinner STUDY STUDY STUDY! and then SURPRISE! You walk in the door and there your grandparents you haven't seen in ages and they come bearing gifts! And for that brief second, when your hands reach up, and a huge smile starts to spread across your lips you can't help but for a second be anything but totally and utterly surprised!
55. 'Anything Nights'
Your tired, the shops already closed and then you realise; you have Nothing to eat! Nothing in your fridge but the left over pasta from the restaurant and a couple of sausages from this mornings breakfast...........and I think I can see two day old salad at the back there! Now what? You guessed it! Its anything night! So you chop up those sausages and heat up that pasta, throwing a little salad on the side! There you have it the beauty of anything night; sure it may not be the tastiest meal of your life time but at least you saved the money you would have lost ordering take-out!
56. 'When Strangers Say Bless You'
Your walking down the street and the suddenly you know it, its there, the dreaded sneeze attack. You attempt to hold your breath and fight it off but you and I both know that's never going to work....then it just blows! You sneeze! And as you attempt to regain your dignity and hope that nobody saw that your greeted by the pleasant surprise of someone saying 'Bless You' from the side of the road! The feeling of unity!
57. 'Random Break Outs Into Song'
Theres really only one thing better than randomly breaking out into song in the middle of class, on the way home on the bus, or when in your room is when everybody else starts breaking out into song around you! Theres a real sense of comradery, or friendship, of honour when you part of the crowd singing Teenage Dream in the middle of math class!
58. 'Fireworks on New Years Eve'
This is a typically Australian thing to do which involves people crowding around the television or if you one of the go-getter few searching for a crowded patch of grass on the fields around Sydney Harbor Bridge! Jumping around like lunatic, pointing to the sky's as another magnificent blast resounds of the wall, complete and utter bliss!
59. 'A Cold Strawberry Milkshake'(Courtesy of a Friend)
Lets face it everybody loves milkshakes; but whats better is a freezing cold/shattering teeth/ and blue lips cold strawberry milkshake that explodes in your mouth with a gusto that would astound most! Luckily in Timor, where home to some pretty rad milkshakes!
60. 'The Smell of Whiteboard Markers'
Yes I admit this is a weird one; but it doesn't make it any different on my list! Its a strange small a curious mix of alchool and gasoline; and lets just say you don't want to smell it on purpose! But when you walk into a classroom and the smell of whiteboard markers fills your nostrils you know! Its going to be a perfect class......except for the work!
